After your order

Returns & Refunds

If we get something wrong, we fix it. This page sets out exactly what that means for made-to-order printing — what we replace, what we cannot take back, and how long it takes.

Last updated: August 2026

The short version

  • Damaged, defective, or not what you ordered — we reprint it or refund you in full.
  • Changed your mind about a custom or personalised piece — we cannot take it back.
  • Report any problem within 48 hours of delivery, with photos.

Why made-to-order is different

Every piece we ship is printed after you order it, and much of it is personalised — a name, a photo, your own 3D model. A nameplate with someone else’s name on it cannot be resold, so we do not offer change-of-mind returns on custom work. That is the trade for having something made specifically for you.

Non-personalised catalogue items are a different case: if one reaches you unopened and unused and you want to return it, contact us within 48 hours and we will look at it individually. Return delivery in that situation is yours to cover.

What we always put right

At our cost, with no argument, if:

  • The piece arrived broken, cracked or damaged in transit.
  • You received the wrong item, wrong colour, or wrong material.
  • The personalisation is wrong — a misspelling on our side, the wrong photo, wrong text.
  • The part does not match the specification agreed in your quote.
  • There is a print defect: layer separation, warping, a failed section, a poor finish.

You choose the remedy — a reprint or a full refund. We do not ask you to post the piece back before we act; clear photos are enough.

Normal variation, not a defect

3D printing is a physical process and small variations are part of it. The following are expected and are not treated as faults:

  • Faint layer lines visible on curved or angled surfaces.
  • Minor colour differences between a screen and the printed filament.
  • Dimensional variation within normal printing tolerances.
  • Small marks where support material was removed from an overhang.

If you are unsure whether what you are looking at is a defect, send us a photo and ask. We would far rather check than have you live with a piece you are unhappy with.

How to report a problem

  1. Message us within 48 hours of delivery at 8848labs@gmail.com or +977 9824549629.
  2. Include your order number and photos of the piece — and of the packaging if it arrived damaged.
  3. We respond within one working day with either a reprint slot or a refund.
  4. Keep the item and its packaging until the matter is settled.

Cancelling an order

  • Before production starts, cancel for a full refund — message us as soon as you can.
  • Once printing has begun, custom and personalised orders cannot be cancelled.
  • For part-completed custom work we refund the balance after design and material costs already incurred.

How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to the eSewa or Khalti account the payment came from, or by bank transfer if you prefer. We start the transfer within 3 working days of agreeing the refund; how quickly it lands after that is up to your provider. Delivery charges are refunded too wherever the fault was ours.

Reprints

A reprint is scheduled ahead of the normal queue and typically ships within 2–5 working days. We cover the delivery charge on any reprint we are responsible for.
