Shipping & Delivery

Every piece is made after you order it, so this page explains what happens between your payment and your parcel — how long production takes, where we deliver, and what it costs.

Last updated: August 2026

8848 Labs is a made-to-order studio. Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting to be picked — your order goes onto a printer after it is confirmed, which is why the timeline below starts with production rather than dispatch.

When production starts

No payment is taken at checkout. Once you place an order we show our QR so you can pay by eSewa or Khalti, then upload the payment screenshot. Production begins once that payment is verified — usually the same working day.

  • Catalogue pieces begin printing as soon as payment is confirmed.
  • Custom and personalised work begins once the design and quote are approved in writing.
  • If we need something from you — a spelling, a photo, a 3D file — the clock starts when it arrives.

How long it takes to make

  • Most catalogue items are printed and finished in 2–5 working days.
  • Larger, multi-part or highly detailed pieces take longer, and we will tell you before you pay.
  • Custom jobs carry the timeline agreed in your quote.
  • Bulk and small-batch runs are scheduled individually — share quantities early so we can plan the run.

Where we deliver

We deliver anywhere in Nepal. Times below are counted from dispatch, not from order.

  • Inside Kathmandu Valley — typically 1–2 working days.
  • Major cities outside the valley — typically 2–5 working days.
  • Remote districts — longer, depending on courier coverage to your area.

Delivery is handled by third-party couriers, so these are realistic estimates rather than guarantees. Festival periods, strikes and weather can add time, and we will tell you if we know your parcel is affected.

What delivery costs

  • A flat delivery charge applies to each order and is shown on the checkout page before you confirm.
  • Orders above a set value ship free. When your cart qualifies, checkout shows the charge as zero.
  • Studio pickup is always free.

Picking up from the studio

You are welcome to collect your order from us in Kathmandu instead of paying for delivery. Choose pickup at checkout and we will message you the moment your order is finished and ready. Please bring your order number.

Tracking your order

Every order moves through the same visible stages, and you can see where yours is at any time from your account:

  • Pending payment — order placed, waiting for you to pay.
  • Awaiting verification — your payment screenshot is with us for checking.
  • Paid — payment confirmed, queued for production.
  • Preparing — being printed, finished and quality-checked.
  • Shipped — handed to the courier or ready for pickup.
  • Completed — delivered or collected.

Packaging & inspection

Every part is inspected by hand before it is packed, and printed pieces are wrapped to survive courier handling. Fragile items — lamps, fine-detail statues, lithophanes — get additional protection at no extra charge.

If something arrives damaged

Tell us within 48 hours of delivery and send photos of the piece and its packaging. We will reprint or refund it — the full process is on our Returns & Refunds page.

Wrong or incomplete address

Couriers cannot deliver what they cannot find. Please check your address and phone number before confirming an order. If a parcel is returned to us because the address was incorrect or nobody could be reached, we will re-send it once you confirm the correct details, with the delivery charge payable again.
